The Alright Maybes
Rock & Roll with style, glamour, and grace
The people in this group started as the kids whose grades declined ever so slightly after discovering rock ‘n’ roll. The kids that stared at a cloud until it looked like something else. They’re still dreamers of the first degree. Now, they’re the band that makes you nostalgic for reasons you may not know. The band that celebrates the past, present and future of music. A tug of war between the U.K. 60s and U.S. 90s, standing on modern ground. This is the Alright Maybes.
Since their debut EP, Always Almost, the Alright Maybes have been featured on a number of radio stations, blogs, podcasts, playlists and online magazines in the U.S. and U.K. Their music has been spun dozens of times on Chicagoland radio stations including WGN 720 AM, CHIRP 107.1 FM, WNUR 89.3 FM and WHCM 88.3 FM. In between regular Chicago club gigs, they’ve performed live for more than one thousand people at Arlington Heights Harmony Fest 2021, and for hundreds at their 2022 residency at The Dock at Montrose Beach.
Currently, the Alright Maybes are celebrating the release, and positive reception, of their bouncy summer single “Gone” (June 24, 2022). Another enticing release, double single “Kurt”/“The Man Who Played the Part,” will hit stores September 2, 2022. EP Blue Sky Thinking will follow in mid-October.
The Alright Maybes grew out of an open mic costume party in Chicago on Halloween 2020. Drummer Julian Daniell told band mate and guitarist Luke Ray he had a dream they were in a new band fronted by singer Angela Reinhart, the party’s host. It was common to find Reinhart and Ray in the green room of their favorite tavern on a Sunday night, harmonizing Beatles tunes into the early morning.
All three thought Daniell’s idea deserved to be more than a passing dream. The new trio bonded on songwriting, and pulled a few tunes together before calling their first-choice bass player. Aidan Epstein and Ray met at age 12 on the baseball field, and fit this new team perfectly.
The Alright Maybes’ debut EP Always Almost (December 2021) was the culmination of their early efforts. Their latest single “Gone” capitalized on their sonic blend of old and new. With a musical, powerful, and swingin’ instrumental backbone, and a versatile, angelic voice to lead the charge, the Alright Maybes sound had arrived.
